NCA – Newfoundland Club of America

The NCA is the sanctioned parent breed club for the Newfoundland and is a member of the American Kennel Club. The NCA has many Regional Newfoundland clubs that create a network of support to Newfoundland dog owners. Members include breeders, owners and fanciers who are committed to protecting the Newfoundland. NCNC – Newfoundland Club of Northern California

Membership in the NCNC offers the opportunity benefit from the expertise of the most experienced Newfoundland fanciers in the region. Even before you acquire your first Newf, joining the NCNC is a great way to meet and talk with breeders and owners, and learn about the care and training of our special breed. Members receive a monthly newsletter, the NewfsPaper, and privileges like participation in water practices and our annual picnic, and more!

NH&R – Newfoundland Health and Rescue – CA

Our mission is to find homes for displaced purebred Newfoundland’s. We work with breeders, shelters, and Newfie owners to find a permanent new home for any Newfoundland that needs one. NH&R is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

OFA – Orthopedic Foundation for Animals

Founded in 1966, our mission is to promote the health and welfare of companion animals through a reduction in the incidence of genetic disease. The OFA website and databases provide the tools, whether you are a veterinarian, breeder, or prospective owner.

AKC – American Kennel Club

The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKCĀ® and its affiliated organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership.
